The book offers original photography of Waterston’s recent large-scale installation, Filthy Lucre, a reimagining of James McNeill Whistler’s famous Peacock Room as a decadent ruin, collapsing under the weight of its own excesses, materials and history. Currently on view at MASS MoCA (Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art) the piece and opens at the Smithsonian’s Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery in May 2015, where the original Peacock Room is permanently on view.
This event at the DC Moore Gallery is free and open to the public; RSVP recommended at info@dcmooregallery.com.
