I had the wonderful opportunity of filming with Condé Nast Traveler for their video segment: 50 people from 50 states in America.
When they emailed me to be a part of their video - I SCREAMED! For those of you who don't know. Condé Nast is the publishing company behind VOGUE magazine. Yes, THEE VOGUE MAGAZINE! That's why it was such a big deal to me.
To be able to filmed with their team for a day was a delight. It was nice seeing their office and meeting new people while filming their new video series. I can't wait for you to watch more of the videos (Yes, there's more to come!) Check out the first video and more photos from my time on set.

With the recent campaigns such as #metoo and #timesup, social media has been an empowering tool to facilitate a collective voice. Every human deserves to have his or her voice heard. Every human deserves to have his or her rights protected. But not everyone can afford it. In addition to the financial burden, not everyone knows how to navigate the system to get the help they need.
Models come to the bustling global fashion centers from diverse backgrounds, speaking diverse languages with big hopes and open hearts. They deserve good friends who will listen and offer advice if they run into problems. We want to be the welcoming connection to assure dreams don’t end up on the floor like the quick change of clothes before the Runway.
Co-founders fashion model, Kristina Romanova (Vera Wang, Ralph Lauren, Dolce & Gabanna) and singer-songwriter/lawyer, Antoniette Costa (Billboard Classical Charts) have founded the Humans of Fashion Foundation, an NGO working to create a platform that guides and connects individuals in the fashion industry who have experienced sexual harassment, abuse, misconduct and assault in the fashion industry with pro bono and subsidized legal professionals, counselors, and support networks. The Humans of Fashion Foundation wants to create a safer workplace for ALL professionals in the fashion industry from models and designers to stylists and makeup artists.

Christine Shepherd used Backstage to receive her first-ever straight offer for a role: a gig in a music video!
The shoot was a family affair.
“The cast was nice and the crew was a delight to work with. Each crew member, including the lead singer, shook my hand and took the time to personally thank me. They even included my mom, who was visiting, in the last scene!”
She wears both masks.
“I look for roles that can show my comedic side. I naturally lean toward the dramatic, serious, and vulnerable, but today I’m gravitating toward roles that will allow me to just have fun and laugh. Less crying and more laughing!”
Maximize your acting market.
“I live in Virginia, but I constantly travel to NYC for acting work. I always sign up for the local casting sites and newsletters. It’s important to do your research and sign up for audition notices no matter what city you are in. Of course, always keep Backstage in mind, too.”
Get involved with the Backstage forums.
“Join the forums! Don’t just apply for the endless jobs on Backstage. Also, start small: Submit for the underdog projects, including nonpaying student films. Even if you don’t book the role, it’s nice to stretch your audition muscles. Remember, each audition is a lesson for the next one.”
Communication flows both ways on Backstage.
“[I use Backstage] on a daily basis, whether it’s submitting for a job, reading or participating in the forums, or reading the latest advice article for actors. It’s easy and convenient! Also, I figured casting directors can filter better by using Backstage due to the useful talent search tool. It’s why I keep coming back.”

VivArte participating organizations Caring for Colombia, First Step Big Step, and Primero Lo Primero hosted a cocktail reception and silent auction to celebrate Colombian contemporary art in support of Colombian early childhood programs on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at PHILLIPS.
VivArte is a joint philanthropic effort to empower and transform the lives of vulnerable children in Colombia, while giving international visibility to a select group of Colombian artists. This dual mission seeks to shape the social reality on the ground and broaden cultural perceptions of Colombia worldwide. Funds raised during the auctions will directly benefit early childhood programs in areas of extreme poverty in Colombia.
The silent and public auction showcased works by thirty-one Colombian artists in a variety of media including painting, sculpture, works on paper, embroidery, photography and animation. 11 of the 14 VivArte works in the public auction sold for a total net profit of $242,912.50, which will directly benefit early childhood programs in Colombia. Records were set for six artists: Olga de Amaral ($449,000), Fanny Sanin ($50,000), Santiago Parra ($15,000), Johanna Calle ($10,000), Monika Bravo ($9,000) and Humberto Junca ($8,750) as well as setting an auction precedent for Ivan Argote ($9,375).
Highlights included works by recent award winning artists such as Carlos Motta, recipient of the Future Generation Art Prize 2014, awarded by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation; Juan Fernando Herrán, recipient of the 2014 Prix Pictet, the global award in photography and sustainability; Fanny Sanin, whose work is currently the subject of a retrospective at the Museo Nacional in Bogotá; Monika Bravo and Carlos Castro Arias, whose work is now on view at the Venice Biennale and Bienal de Mercosur, respectively.

Andy Warhol, Lou Reed, Nico and Jim Morrison were alive and well on September 23rd, at the Players Theater in New York City, through rare footage in Danny Fields’ new documentary Danny Says. Gillian McCain and Legs McNeil, the authors of Please Kill Me, The Uncensored Oral History of Punk, hosted the private screening for over 200 guests with director Brendan Toller and producer Pamela Lubell alongside. Danny was the brilliant agent, editor, and provocateur who worked with and inspired Morrison, Iggy Pop, MC5, The Ramones, and many more.
In her welcoming remarks, Gillian mimicked her dedication in Please Kill Me, how Danny inspired the book and was “forever the coolest guy in the room.” Danny, who could not be there, wrote to Gillian of the coincidental date the screening fell on, as it was the same day, many many years ago, that the Stooges and MC5 were signed and that it was also his parents anniversary, for which none of this would be possible without.

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) honored cultural patron, collector, and journalist Barbara Tober for her 35 years of commitment to the Museum, and Vacheron Constantin, the world’s oldest watch manufacturer, on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the LOOT 2015: MAD ABOUT JEWELRY gala benefit. The evening began with a preview of 50 emerging and acclaimed artists’ jewelry at LOOT, the annual one-of-a-kind jewelry exhibition and sale and a cocktail party. Guests enjoyed four hours of shopping with the designers, along with gourmet sushi, a variety of Baked by Melissa Cupcakes, wine was provided by l’Escargot Sauvignon Blanc and Tre Vini. Dinner followed at the Robert Restaurant, upstairs at MAD, overlooking Columbus Circle. Guests dined on, a Goat Cheese and Papaya Salad, a main course of Beef Tenderloin Au Poivre, and a Chocolate Cake for dessert.
MAD’s Nanette L. Laitman Director, Glenn Adamson, wore a black and white Cor Sine Labe Doli ceramic bow tie and welcomed shoppers to LOOT 2015. Honoree, Barbara Tober wore a Sylvie & Christophe Tissot necklace that she purchased at the event. Michele Cohen, LOOT’s Chairman, wore an amazing felt necklace from designer Gori-Montanelli. Bryna Pomp, LOOT’s Curator, wore a beautiful set from Finnish designer Chao-Hsien Kuo.
