Honor Fall 2015 Collection

On February 12th, I attended the Honor show held at the ArtBeam venue in Chelsea. Usually, I would miss seeing Honor during NYFW because it will  compete with a show at the Lincoln Center (Fall 2015 Season is the last season for MBFW  at the venue!) -- both shows held at the same time = double booking is the worse during NYFW. This year, I decided to skipped a show at the Lincoln in favor of Honor. Glad I did -- The fall 2015, like spring 2015 collection was whimsically beautiful.

Giovanna Randall is known for her ultra-feminine frocks, that I expected no less with her Fairytale-inspired collection for Fall 2015. 39 looks merged from a tree covered with multicolored mushrooms.  That  mushroom theme continued on a few dresses on the runway . Scalloped details were the main trend of Honor's Fall 2015 show.  Look 5 which was one of my favorites from this collection showcased a tomato silk blouse  with aforementioned scallop detail and A-line skirt.

The fall 2015 collection was a great follow-up to their past favorable spring 2015 collection. My top looks are below:

Giovanni Cattleya presented his Fall 2015 presentation on February 12th, 2015 to media and buyers. After checking in, we were escorted upstairs to a room full of snacks and on-the-go drinks . A nice touch on the PR's part for providing nutrition --- On  a long day ahead for us, press folk. Feb, 12th was the official start of NYFW. Giovanni Cattleya was my first presentation of the day. We made our way from the snack room to the room next door, showcasing nine looks --- including  his twist on the classic tux with a chained vest to a coat with the Matelassé fabric . Which was a reminiscent of the Gucci Wool Equestrian Coat , but with added buttons on both sides.

I chatted with Giovanni briefly on the collection and this being his second collection, he was ecstatic about the press approval of the line. I happily  mentioned the printed pants -- which is  one of my favorite looks of the collection. He told me the pants are unisex, worn by both men and women. I would of course style the pants differently!

My conclusion? A modified Wild West meets the Old School British (Men) Style.

Funded by the Korean government and supported by a powerhouse of fashion’s elite, Concept Korea returned to Lincoln Center on February 13th, 2015 to show Fall/Winter 2015 collections, marking its eleventh season showing at New York Fashion Week. This season’s showcase represented the best of both men’s and women’s Seoul based fashion  designers: Beyond Closet by Taeyong Ko, LEYII by Seunghee Lee and Resurrection by Juyoung Lee.

From K-Pop to K-Beauty, there is no denying the talent and intrigue pouring out of South Korea in the past decade. Most recently, South Korean fashion designers have taken the industry by storm, creating a K-Fashion phenomenon that has quickly placed Seoul on the international fashion map.

Since 2010, the program has brought rising design stars from South Korea into the New York City spotlight, providing a global stage for the country’s tremendous talents.

Over the seasons, Concept Korea has garnered the attention and support of New York’s fashion elite. This seasons designers were selected by a panel of style experts including: FERN MALLIS, founder of New York Fashion Week, AVRIL GRAHAM, Executive Fashion & Beauty Editor of Harper’s Bazaar, NICOLE FISCHELIS, Macy’s Vice President and Fashion Director, STEPHAHNIE SOLOMON, Fashion Director of Lord & Taylor, SIMON COLLINS, executive fashion consultant for WME/IMG and PHILLIP BLOCH, Stylist and fashion expert.

Makeup was done by Janell Geason for AVEDA, hair by Jon Reyman for AVEDA and nails by Victor Amos at MLM Represents.
