The Freer Gallery of Art and Arthur M. Sackler Gallery bring together artists and art lovers, philanthropists and diplomats, cultural and business leaders, and young professionals for a sumptuous evening to celebrate the opening of the exhibition Peacock Room REMIX: Darren Waterston's Filthy Lucre and to benefit the museums' American Art Endowment.
At Flock Together, the gala after-party, guests start their extraordinary evening at the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery with a champagne reception hosted by the Silk Road Society. There, they enjoy an exclusive preview of Peacock Room REMIX: Darren Waterston’s Filthy Lucre, on public view for the first time in Washington. The dazzling event continues when guests “flock together” at the after-party held in the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium. Into the night guests enjoy drinks, a dessert buffet, and dancing with a special performance by BETTY, the rock band that composed and recorded the mesmerizing soundscape for Filthy Lucre.
Peacock Room REMIX is organized by the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery. Darren Waterston’s installation Filthy Lucre, 2013–14, was created by the artist in collaboration with MASS MoCA, North Adams, Massachusetts.
